Abelia grandiflora (Glossy Abelia)

Glossy Abelia (Abelia grandiflora) is a moderately vigorous semi-evergreen shrub. It has arching branches and will grow to 1,5m (5ft) in height and 2,5m (8ft) in spread.

Features small glossy oval leaves and clusters of trumpet-shaped pale pink, slightly fragrant flowers from summer to autumn.

It should be grown in fertile, well drained soil in full sun. Tolerates light shade. Should be protected from cold winds.

Pruning should be done after flowering and shoots that grow over the outline should be reduced to the a strong inner bud.
