Plumbago auriculata (Cape leadwort) is a very versatile and rustic plant.  It is an evergreen shrub that can reach more than 4m.

It is widely used in landscaping. Shrubby and very branched works well as hedgerows and can be tutored as a climber. Its sky-blue flowers are delicate in the form of small bouquets. The flowering of Plumbago is remarkable by the end of Summer.

How to plant

It should be grown in full sun, isolated, in rows or as a hedge. Regular prunning stimulates the flowering and foliage renew. Plumbago tolaretes low temperatures, but needs to be protected from frosts.
