Description

Cornus alba (Red-barked dogwood) makes a dense thicket of slender stems 2-3m (7 to 10ft) high. They often spread twice that size, with lower suckering branches.

In spring and summer the red twig dogwood bear small clusters of creamy yellow flowers, followed by pea-sized white or blue fruits.

Should be cut back annually almost to ground level. This will encourage new growths, which have the best color.

Cornus alba twigs tend to be darker than the sibirica cultivar.

Visit the complete plant guides of Cornus species (Dogwoods).

Please note that bare root plants are only available between November and March while the plants are in dormancy.
