How to plant Taro rhizomes (Colocasia esculenta)

The growth of Taro (Colocasia esculenta) ‘Black Petiole’

4 weeks after planting Taro we could see new roots coming out of the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot. Now I am sure that the plant is taking roots, and that is the most important thing at the moment.

Two more weeks have passed and I already see a new leaf emerging. Everything is going well. I’m curious to see its evolution as the season progresses further.

From here, and depending on the temperatures, I will be able to put the Taro to grow outside. It will benefit from a position with humidity and without direct sunlight.
